Bright citrus meets warming root — a small but powerful ritual for cold mornings or long kitchen days.

Growing up near the icy shores of Vänern, winters were long, dark, and beautifully quiet. We relied on simple, honest ingredients to stay nourished — citrus for brightness, roots for warmth. This shot reflects that same philosophy: clean, functional, and purposeful.

Ingredients

Makes 8 small shots

1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

¼ cup fresh lemon juice

⅓ cup fresh ginger, peeled

1½ tsp fresh turmeric root (or 1 tsp ground)

¾ cup coconut water

Freshly ground black pepper (a small pinch)

Optional: 1–2 tsp raw honey

Method

Slow Press or Juicer
Juice ginger and turmeric first. Stir in citrus and coconut water. Add a small pinch of black pepper and whisk gently.

Blender Method
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Strain through fine linen or a mesh sieve for a clean finish.

Chef’s Tip

  • Black pepper enhances the absorption of turmeric’s active compounds.

  • Shake before serving.

  • Best enjoyed slightly chilled but not ice cold — allow the flavors to open.

  • Keeps 3–4 days refrigerated in a glass mason jar.
